If you are suffering with a vaginal yeast infection, otherwise known as thrush, then it’s important to understand the complications that can occur if treatment doesn’t work.

There are many reasons why treatment from your doctor might not work. It might be that you don’t have a yeast infection, but rather bacterial vaginosis which also relates to the type of bacteria found in your vagina and can cause an abnormal vaginal discharge.

Depression and Sexual Problems

Sometimes when women regularly get yeast infections they may find that they get depressed or feel anxious about having sex. If this happens, then the best way to avoid it is to get to the root cause of your infections using natural methods. You should also visit your doctor for advice about getting counseling that could help the conditions.

Male Thrush

Another complication is that the yeast infection can be passed onto a male that the woman has sex with. The Candida bacteria can cause the head of the penis to become inflamed.

The good news is that yeast infections do not affect your chance of getting pregnant.

It’s important to get to the bottom of your vaginal yeast infection. It isn’t pleasant having to live with the symptoms, and they can wear you out if you can’t get rid of it. Often, doctors will recommend drugs that can make it go away but don’t treat the cause. If you really want to treat the cause itself to stop it coming back then I recommend checking out Yeast Infection No More.

There are many yeast infections causes which can trigger a fungus to grow in the vagina, causing a number of unpleasant symptoms. The main type of fungus responsible is known as “Candida albicans”, and here is a quick guide on what causes it to grow.

Firstly, you should know that around 20-50% of all women have the Candida fungus, but don’t have any symptoms of thrush. When changes take place within the vagina, this can cause the symptoms to appear.

Risk Factors & Yeast Infections Causes

Antibiotics: The first cause is antibiotics. About 30% of women who take a course of intravaginal or systemic antibiotics will develop a yeast infection, but only if the Candida fungus is already present in the body.

Pregnancy: The changes in your sex hormones throughout pregnancy mean that yeast infections are more likely, as well as recurrent infections.

Weak Immune System: if you have a weak immune system, such as through HIV, Aids, or treatments such as chemotherapy, then you’ll be more at risk of developing yeast infections.

Diabetes: if your diabetes is poorly controlled the yeast infections are more likely to occur.

Other factors that can make yeast infections more likely include:

Sexual activity,

Certain oral contraceptives,

Wearing tight-fitting clothing.

Knowing the yeast infections causes is useful, as avoiding the risk factors can certainly help you to reduce your chances of developing the condition. However, for many women it isn’t as straight forward as this – the best way is to work on your body naturally to get rid of yeast infections for good. For this I recommend you take a look at “Yeast Infection No More” for completely holistic treatment ideas.

Oral thrush treatment is important to help avoid complications, such as soreness in the mouth and problems fitting in dentures. Here is a quick guide to some of the ways you can treat oral yeast infections.

Looking After Your Mouth

The first step of oral thrush treatment is always to keep your mouth as clean as possible. After you eat, rinse out. And remember, smoking can help to encourage yeast to grow in your mouth, making it worse. Dentures can also encourage yeast, so never keep them in for 24 hours at a time.

Dentures and Yeast Infection

If you wear dentures then it’s important you know the proper steps to take to help avoid them causing any yeast infection. Yeast tends to stick to the dentures, which is why you need to keep them clean and preferably keep them out of your mouth as long as you can. This is especially important at night time.

Clean the dentures using warm, soapy water. You can also sterilise them in a solution designed for sterilising baby bottles. Make sure you don’t use bleach if your dentures have metal parts.

Dental Treatment

Your dentist may prescribe other treatments to help you get rid of oral thrush. Tablets can be sucked to help it go away. Make sure you go to check ups regularly to make sure everything is the way that it should be in your life.

Oral thrush treatment, like any other yeast infection treatment, should be done in a way that gets to the root cause. If you are having difficulty treating your thrust and want to use safe, healthy and natural methods then I recommend taking a look at the natural guide by clicking here.

The Candida albicans diet is used by those that suffer from yeast infections. The yeast responsible for the infection is called Candida, and it is believed that certain diets can help the body better control the levels of bacteria to get rid of the infection completely. This kind of bacteria can affect the vagina, skin and mouth.

The Candida Albicans Diet

If you want to try dietary changes to prevent yeast infections then here are the top tips:

1) Avoid sugar: It is said that sugar helps yeast to grow, which is why reducing the amount you eat can help to control the growth of the Candida fungus.

2) Avoid yeast: A number of foods contain yeast, such as fermented foods. These include mushrooms, bread, beer and others.

People choose to go on this diet for different lengths of time depending on how severe their symptoms are and how long they have had the infection. Everyone is different, and therefore everyone responds to the diet differently.

Many people claim that the diet can take a month to see any effect, but in many cases it can take much longer. Slowly, when symptoms start disappearing, people will reintroduce these foods into their diet to see whether it’s safe to start eating them again.

Although many people have seen improvement with the Candida albicans diet, it often takes a long time to work and, for many, the results are short lived. If you really want to find a natural cure for your yeast infection then I recommend you take a look at the Yeast Infection No More holistic approach.

Thrush is men, if left untreated, can lead to some serious complications. This is why it’s important to seek treatment and to prevent it from happening if at all possible.

If you develop a yeast infection and also have a weak immune system then you could be at risk of the fungus spreading to your blood. The chance of this happening is increased if you are taking antibiotics, if you have diabetes or if you have leukemia.

Some of the symptoms of this complication include:

Shivering,

Nausea,

Headache,

Fever.

If you suspect you may have this it’s important to seek expert medical advice immediately. In order to prevent it, check some of our tips below.

Personal Hygiene

The first way to help prevent thrush in men is to stick to good personal hygiene. Clean the penis regularly, and if your partner has thrush then always use a condom when having sex.

When you wash, avoid using shower gels and soaps that use perfume. Wear loose fitting underwear to help prevent moisture building up which can help the thrush bacteria to multiply.

Lifestyle

You can also help to prevent thrush from occurring by making some changes to your lifestyle. Try to eat a balanced diet that doesn’t include too much sugar and fat.

Try to avoid stress, as feeling run down can also help to increase the chance of developing thrush.

Thrush in men has many of the same causes as thrush in women, and it’s important to get to the bottom of them to treat it effectively. For a completely natural approach, I recommend you take a look at Yeast Infection No More for the best holistic treatments.

I know many people who suffer from yeast infections want to find out how to cure yeast infection naturally and safely. After all, a lot of the “un-natural” treatments can seem pretty hopeless anyway! Here is a quick guide to some of the natural things you can do to help.

Before I start, I want to say that if this is the first time you’ve ever had the symptoms of a yeast infection then you should always visit your doctor for a diagnosis as you won’t know exactly what to expect.

Self Help for Yeast Infection

The first thing you should do if you have a yeast infection is to make sure you only use water to wash your genital area. Don’t use perfumed soaps, douches, shower gels or anything – this could irritate it even more.

Don’t use any lubricants or spermicidal creams, or latex condoms, if you find they irritate the area. You should also try to wear cotton underwear and loose clothes to help the condition.

Recurring Yeast Infections

If your yeast infections are recurrent then you might want to visit a doctor for further tests. You should also try natural methods that can stop the symptoms from returning over and over again. Your diet is important but you also want to make sure you tackle the root cause.

If you want to go the natural way to cure yeast infection naturally and safely then I recommend using an expert guide such as Yeast No More, after first checking with your doctor.

Have you ever heard of a yogurt yeast infection remedy? Although it might sound a little odd, many people successfully use yogurt as a natural way to relieve and to treat their condition.

Yogurt is considered especially useful when it comes to recurring yeast infections, as it helps to prevent the bacteria from growing, and can get it under control again. Yogurt contains “good bacteria” which can help to control the levels of the fungus that causes the yeast infection in your body.

How to Use the Yogurt Yeast Infection Remedy

There are a number of ways in which yogurt can be used for yeast infections. First things first, do NOT use yogurt as a treatment if you could be allergic to it.

Secondly, homemade yogurt could be a good idea for yeast infection treatment, as it often has more of the live cultures that are needed for an effective treatment. If you do buy yogurt, only get natural plain yogurt and do not purchase yoghurt that contains sugar.

You can either make use of yogurt internally or externally. To use it externally, apply it to the affected area and leave it for around 30 minutes to help relieve some of the painful symptoms of your infection.

Otherwise, eat yoghurt regularly to help keep the levels of bacteria in your body under control.

Does Yogurt Really Work?

Yogurt is most useful when it comes to relieving yourself from the itching and burning symptoms. However, when it comes to using it as a cure there is little evidence to suggest that it actually works. Yogurt only targets the fungus itself, and does not work on the reasons why the fungus developed in the first place. It is also often less effective when it comes to more severe forms of yeast infection.

I recommend you try yogurt yeast infection treatments to relieve the symptoms, then look towards the other causes of yeast infection. Usually, a number of factors are at play. In order to root out the real cause, looking at many treatment options using a holistic approach is often the best way. So far, the best guide I have found for this is the Yeast Infection No More book.

If you’re looking for a yeast infection natural treatment then probiotics could be one thing that you could explore. “probiotics” live in organisms that are naturally present in our body, otherwise known as “friendly bacteria”. They can help to stop the organism Candida – which causes yeast infections – from growing in your body.

Studies have been done into probiotics as a yeast infection natural treatment. They’ve shown that a particular type of probiotic, “Lactobacillus” is especially useful for stopping Candida from growing in the vagina. However, the results aren’t conclusive so it’s always important to talk to your doctor before you do anything.

How to Use Probiotics

If you want to use probiotics as a natural treatment then you can get them available from the drugstore as an oral supplement, and also as a vaginal suppository. Take close notice of how your symptoms change when you’re using them to make sure they really are making things better.

Whilst studies suggest that probiotics are useful as a yeast infection natural treatment, I would still recommend looking into other natural options that don’t have so much question around them. Take a look at “Yeast Infection No More” which is a guide that has helped people get rid of yeast infections in completely natural ways that have been proven to work.

When it comes to severe yeast infection treatments, it can be so difficult to get to the root cause of the infections and actually cure it for good. The first thing to do is to visit your doctor and see what they have to say.

Antifungal Medicine

The most common severe yeast infection treatments make use of antifungal medicine. This is taken for just a few days if your symptoms are mild, but if they are severe then treatment generally takes longer to work.

You can take these medicines either in the mouth, or by inserting them directly into the vagina – both have shown success as a treatment for yeast infections.

Oral Treatment

For girls under the age of 16, oral treatment is usually recommended, though it’s not suitable for breastfeeding or pregnant women. However, these treatments can cause some side effects including:

Headaches,

Bloating,

Nausea,

Vomiting,

Flatulence,

Upset Stomach,

Constipation,

Diarrhea.

Intravaginal Pessaries (Vaginal Treatment)

The treatments designed for the vagina can also bring about a number of symptoms:

They can be difficult to use,

They might cause itching or burning,

They can damage latex condoms and diaphragms.

It’s important to visit your doctor if you think you might need either of these severe yeast infection treatments. However, they only treat the symptoms and don’t work on the root cause. If you want to get to the bottom of your yeast infections, and avoid those unpleasant symptoms, then I’ve found the best bet is to go with a holistic approach such as Yeast Infection No More.

The link between bacterial vaginosis/ pregnancy is one that is very common. Women who are pregnant are more likely to develop a yeast infection (the two are not the same condition), however this is separate from bacterial vaginosis, where the link to pregnancy has more to do with the safety of the baby

Bacterial Vaginosis/ Pregnancy Effects

If you have bacterial vaginosis while pregnant then this can put you at risk of pre-term birth of having a low birth-weight baby. However, the link between BV and complications during pregnancy still isn’t fully clear. Experts don’t know why women with BV sometimes deliver their babies prematurely.

The good news is that many women have normal pregnancies and often the problem will work itself out on its own.

Symptoms of BV

Unfortunately many women will not know they have BV as they won’t experience any symptoms. However, sometimes symptoms may include a foul smelling discharge (different to yeast infection discharge which has no odor) that is even more noticeable after sex. You could also experience a burning feeling when you urinate, but this is less common.
